Calling the best Samba musicians!
We are delighted to be able to present Claudio Altamirano as teacher for the musicians at this year’s summer camp. He will teach a sweaty Rio samba with cool groovie breaks and drum stick technique.
At the Samba summer camp this year we strive to maintain a relatively high level among the musicians, so that we get the most out of our fantastic teacher Claudio Altamirano.
So here is a description of what we at least expect you to be able to do, as a musician:
– We expect you to be used to playing basic rhythms in samba as a intermediate or advanced musician – also at a fast pace…
– We expect you to master your instrument at a level where the technique is in place – even when it goes quickly!
– We expect you to be able to overview the music in relation to directions in the samba and have the energy to listen, for example to the 3rd Surdo in relation to your instrument.
– We expect you to be able to start and end calls, samba 1+2+3 and Onda.
– We expect that the term “samba swing” is familia to you.
– We expect also you have energy enough to focus on listening and react quickly when the conductor gives signal.
And is it going to kick as – YES WE THINK IT WILL!!!
If you are in doubt about your level, please feel free to write to us so we can help you figure it out.
